In Soltau, political decisions are not necessarily taken behind closed doors. Actually, the opposite is the case – apart from a very few topics, most of the sessions are open to everyone.
And even if you do not personally attend the sessions of the city council and its committees, you still have the opportunity to inform yourself about the political events in Soltau via our city council information system, introduced in 1996. With the help of this system, you can find answers to the following questions:
- When does the next session take place?
- Who holds a seat in the city council and its committees?
- Which political parties, groups and associations attend the sessions?
Furthermore, you are free to look at and print out the members’ public invitations, drafts and decision minutes. Additionally, the information system features a search function for particular topics or events. Finally, members of the city council have access to a restricted area with non-public topics.
