Traffic and transportation
Soltau is situated within easy reach, a fact that, among others, makes the city a top location in Germany. Approximately seven million people can reach Soltau by car in less than an hour.
All roads lead to Soltau: Visitors can easily get to Soltau not only via two A7 Autobahn exits (Soltau-Süd and Soltau-Ost), but also via two national highways (B3, B71) and a regional throughway (L71).
Furthermore, Soltau has access to the Hanover - Bremen - Hamburg railroad lines, thus allowing its visitors to reach the city by train.
In Soltau itself, you will find ideal traffic conditions. You can directly get to the city center by car or bus, whereas shoppers can enjoy a car-free pedestrian zone. Most recently, many ideas and suggestions resulted in the 2000 traffic development plan.
